1. Catch-Up: Family Reunions with Kids
I look forward to our gatherings with Matthew's family, but it's getting more entertaining as now Luke has cousin Gabby (5 mo.) to play with. We hosted Matthew's brother Todd, his wife Corrie & their baby Gabby and Jacquie & Alan the Friday through Sunday after Thanksgiving. Here's some pics:

The Weitzel Family (Luke went through a gold-digging phase a few weeks ago when this picture was taken. The rest of us look good, though!)

Fun with Mimi and Pop Pop
Gabby is a total sweetheart, smiley and didn't mind Luke getting close.
Breakfast banana with Uncle Buckeye. Luke really liked both Uncle Buckeye and Tia Corrie.
Photo before they headed back to Ohio. Sometimes those last minute shots don't quite work out.
Nice recovery Gabby!
Goodbye hugs
I'm really proud of myself. Luke's hair had never been cut. Lately it was getting really long on top as you can see in this photo. Last week another lady thought he was a 'cute little girl' and it was becoming a regular food magnet at mealtimes. My strategy went like this: 1 - lollipop, 2- cookie, 3 - another cookie, this time with more sprinkles on it. I just pulled the hair up between two fingers of my left hand and started snipping with a scissors in my right hand. It mostly worked. He wouldn't let me get to the hair around his ears, but I can tuck it behind his ears anyway.

After the haircut! He looks older to me.
This has made it harder to update the blog. I tried to get at least one good picture yesterday, and got this one.... He's very sad because his mean mommy won't give him the camera. :( His little lip turns down and his eyes get big. He doesn't usually cry, but does throw whatever he can find. He also rolls around on the floor, and tries to bite.
Sigh.
He does so many cute things at this stage - I wish I had a better way to capture them.
(Note: I actually had a much better time taking pictures today! Yay! Maybe I was just trying to squeeze pictures into what we were doing, rather than set aside time to take them.)
4. Our Boy Wakes Up Happy
He really does, most of the time anyway, and that makes for a happy mommy too.
Showing off his "Haah" (hat). It's pretty cold in his room at night and so we put this hat on him.
He really likes opening and closing doors, and it's even better if someone is on the other side to yell out, "Peek-a-boo!"
6. These are a Few of My Favorite Things....
A daily favorite toy is his sound machine. Actually anything with buttons is a favorite toy. He's just allowed to play with this one more than the cell phone, key fob, computer or camera.
The trash can - opening and closing the lid
Closing the gate. He's pretty good about not attempting to go down the stairs. But if he sees a gate open, he dashes to shut it.
Pulling pretty berries off the tree. Also on the favorites list: Christmas lights running in circles around the house, giggling books with flaps playing in running water wheels sticky notes
Love,
Laurie & Luke
